Alegra 8, Tempest 44 &VHV

In our world Gaelic or Gothic refers to the interlocking tile with a wide flat pan and smaller tapered barrel covering the interlock. This style of tile is found throughout Europe and primarily used in Belgium, Northern France and Germany with a great number of regional variations.

For example the small Tempest 44 tile is traditionally found in Belgium, where it was first made in 1846. Whereas the Alegra 8 is a much larger tile and found in Northern France and Germany. Most variations are available in a wide range of weathered finishes, as well as satin and glazed colors
